Hi. Thank you for your question today! The Ring Smart Lighting Pathlight can be used with just batteries and does not need to be connected to Alexa, Ring, or Wi-Fi to provide motion-activated lighting. If you would like to access additional features such as customizing settings, linking it with other Ring devices, or controlling it through the Ring app, you would need to connect it to a Ring Bridge and your Wi-Fi network.
