“What does it mean ‘operated with chime’? I have two ring doorbells that chime when the doorbell is pushed. I don’t have the extra thing that is shown with this doorbell. I’m trying to decide which wireless model to get for my granddaughters’s house.”

Hello inquiringmind, This model of Ring Doorbell uses rechargeable battery power or can be hardwired to an existing doorbell chime kit. It does require 8-24 VAC (40VA max) and 50/60Hz. DC, halogen, and garden-lighting transformers not compatible.
