• They make specific lights to be mounted on fences and these would not be good for that application.

These devices are designed to be installed into the ground. The Solar Pathlight motion detection angle is dependent on the distance from the unit. It has a 15' range and does detect motion up to 120º horizontally. So keep that in mind when choosing a physical installation location.
