Hi Parrot1. Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us with your question. The Ring Spotlight Cam Plus was designed with customizable light and motion settings to be adjusted according to your needs. By default, the spotlight on the Ring Spotlight Cam Plus will only come on when it detects motion at night. The Light Settings tab on the device's page in the Ring app lets you control when your spotlight comes on. As long as the Motion Detection toggle is turned on, the camera will continue to record when motion is detected, even if the lights are turned off.
