  • QuestionRing - Spotlight Cam Plus Outdoor/Indoor Wireless 1080p Plug-In Surveillance Camera include battery's

    Asked by Yuriy.

    • Answer The plug-in does not include batteries. You can buy batteries and you only need 1 battery but there’s space for 2. It doesn’t appear that you can enable the camera to run off it in a backup scenario. So it may be a waste of $35.

  • QuestionCan the Spotlight on the Ring - Spotlight Cam Plus Outdoor/Indoor 1080p Plug-In Surveillance Camera be set to turn off during the day and turned on at night? Also if the Spotlight is turned off, will the surveillance camera still work?

    Asked by Parrot1.

    • Answer Hi Parrot1. Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us with your question. The Ring Spotlight Cam Plus was designed with customizable light and motion settings to be adjusted according to your needs. By default, the spotlight on the Ring Spotlight Cam Plus will only come on when it detects motion at night. The Light Settings tab on the device's page in the Ring app lets you control when your spotlight comes on. As long as the Motion Detection toggle is turned on, the camera will continue to record when motion is detected, even if the lights are turned off. • QuestionMy spotlight cam plus outdoor camera is battery operated and I have it plugged in to keep it charged. Here is my question, if I buy a Plug-in camera can I use the same cord for it?

    Asked by Sunshine.

    • Answer Hi goose. Thank you for your question! The newer Ring camera's that can be powered with a plug-in adapter are all designed with a USB-C port. While you have these dual power devices in battery mode they will use the battery inside the device to stay powered. While in plug-in or wired mode the device with stay powered on AC power with fully feature use. If power goes out your device will start to use battery power, but will still have full features enabled, this will cause the battery to drain faster then keeping the device in battery mode. • QuestionHas there been any issues with this unit outdoors? This is now my 2nd unit & still at times show that the unit is unplugged with no power. Also shows that the wifi is obviously offline due to no power. Possible water damage?

    Asked by Tone.

    • Answer Hi Tone. Thank you for reaching out. The Ring Spotlight Cam Plus is weather-resistant and rated to work in temperatures ranging from -5°F to 120°F (-20.5°C to 48.5°C). Follow these steps to check if your Spotlight Cam has lost its power: If the Spotlight Cam is connected to a light switch, check to see if the light switch was flipped off accidentally. Flip the switch back to the on position to restore power. Firmly press the setup button on top of your Spotlight Cam. If your Spotlight Cam has power, the following should happen: You will hear a voice say, "Entering setup mode." The light on the bottom of Spotlight Cam will flash. If it's nighttime, walk underneath the motion sensor. If the lights turn on, your Spotlight Cam has power. Check your breaker box. You may have tripped it or blown a fuse. In this case, resetting the breaker or replacing the fuse could restore power to your Spotlight Cam. Visit our support center for more information.
