“Most security flood lights have a dim or soft light which is continuously on until motion is detected and then it lights up. Does this camera have a light that stays on all the time and brightens when activated?”

By default, the lights are off and only come on when motion is detected. However, in the settings, you can program them to be constantly on although it will drain the battery much faster. I believe there's also a setting for making a schedule for the lights. Haven't messed with this too much yet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No, in the standard setting, the light comes on at night when it senses motion. During live view however you can turn the light on, or set off the alarm remotely. Also while you're in lie view it records the video you see automatically.
