A:AnswerYou'll always need to have your new Ring connected to your home or businesses WiFi in order to access the Ring applications camera video recordings. The solar panel only facilitates power or the recharging of the Ring camera's batteries. By the way, I have solar panels connected to both of my Ring cameras with dual batteries installed in each and the Ring camera almost always maintains a 90%+ charge state. Great device, hope you enjoy yours.
A:AnswerI can't help you yet. I am waiting for the system to be installed. I bought it and the stay at home order was issued right before they were to come out to install the system.
A:AnswerHi Lizzy,
Great question! Your battery will take around five to 10 hours to fully charge, depending on whether the USB cable is plugged into a USB port or into a wall outlet. Your Spotlight Cam battery is charged using a common micro-USB cable (an orange one is included in your Ring box). The micro-USB cable can be plugged into any USB power source such as a computer. A:AnswerIt should show a battery on the app, which would indicate the battery usage. If you have this mounted outside, I would suggest getting a solar panel to power it.
A:AnswerThis camera requires very strong Wifi signal, contrary from what Ring says. My camera always had problems connecting even though I had 200 Mgbs and about 25 to 30 feet away from hub.
FYI I'm running one of the best Orbi Satellite Systems for my WIF Signal.
A:AnswerI’ve noticed the camera doesn’t always catch motion I have seen My kids cars pull into my driveway but I don’t see them leave the next recording they’re just gone. Something I will be calling Ring about
A:AnswerIf you buy an extra battery, you can have continuos coverage, and mount this unit anywhere within WiFi range. It only uses one battery at a time, and I found that the battery lasts approximately a month before the unit switches over to the second battery. You can check the health of the unit anytime through the app, so battery power works well for me. While I’m not sure it can be hard wired, between the battery and the cameras capabilities, I think it’s worthy of reconsidering “ not being bothered” by batteries..you could likely go two months between battery swaps with two batteries...
A:AnswerRing cameras comes battery option an wired option . Be sure to check that when buying . If you buy the battery camera option then if you like you can buy the solar panel and the battery will be charge continuously.
