“I am considering replacing an old incandescent outdoor wall lamp with a Ring Spotlight indoor/outdoor security camera. This would be a hardwired install. Is the spotlight able to be turned on for basic illumination independent of the camera/motion sensor?”

Hello InTheDark, Yes, the lights on the Ring Spotlight Cam can be controlled independently from within the Ring app. You can also use Alexa to turn on the light. Once you enable the Ring skill in the Alexa app, you can just say: "Alexa, turn on the spotlight."
