Hello Phil, The Ring Stick Up Cam does require a high speed wifi internet connection. For the best results we recommend having the Ring device within 30 feet of your wifi router or wifi extender. Almost all Ring products use wifi (wireless networking) to connect to the internet. Wifi is useful, but does have limits.
