battery charges with included USB. I bought the the Ring 3 plus. Wired and battery. Also got chime pro that is a wifi extender and night light.

Please try again later.Unless you hardwire the unit, you will have to recharge the battery—supplied usb cable is quite short (less than 1 ft) I suggest purchasing a second battery so you always have a charged one. Unfortunately, which one you purchase is personal preference (the pro is slimmer but hardwire only). I hardwired vdb 3 plus so the battery is automatically recharged but if power goes, the battery will take over
