Q: QuestionHi! I don’t have a doorbell installed I just want a battery operated doorbell! Interested in the 3+ can I still get that and I need one for the back door too!
Asked by Victoria.
- A:Answer Yes the 3 plus is battery operated or can be wired in. I’m using mine as battery operated because my wired was covered up when my new front door was installed. The battery should last about six months before being recharged and it will let you know when it is getting low your best bet is to buy a back up battery for $29 so you don’t have to wait for it to be recharged and can just swap them out because it takes a long time for the battery to be recharged.

Q: QuestionWhat is the difference between this version and other versions of Ring?
Asked by Kim.
- A:Answer Hi, Our new video doorbell has all the great features of its predecessor, the Ring Video Doorbell 2 and then some. It can be powered by the removable, rechargeable battery, or hardwired via traditional doorbell wiring. RVD 3 is the first battery-powered device to come with dual-band WiFi, and features 1080P HD video with color night vision and two-way talk with echo cancellation. RVD 3 also includes two all-new features, Foresight, which enables users to capture complete motion events with their Ring RVD 3 and record 4 seconds before motion is triggered, and a newly added "Near Zone" for more relevant motion detection closer to your front door. Q: QuestionBest Buy has a Ring Doorbell 3 Plus bundle with Echo Show 5. Can I use the Echo Show as the ringer or do I have to buy a separate wireless chime?
Asked by grommetik.
- A:Answer Yes you can use it as a chime. It not only announces or has preset rings that you can pick, when someone pushes the button, the screen automatically comes on to show you who’s there. Mine is set to say ‘Someone’s at the front door’. And if you have other Amazon devices, they will also ring or make an announcement in unison when the button is pushed.

Q: Questionhow long does it take to charge the battery?
Asked by Mimi.
- A:Answer Five to six hours if it’s dead in my experience. If you hard wire it to your old doorbell wires there will be no need to charge the battery after the initial full charge, it’ll just be there if you lose power as a backup.
