• Hello ChauD, Ring Doorbell 3 is powered by a rechargeable, Quick release battery pack. But it can be hardwired to an existing doorbell system or transformer with 8-24 VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz for continuous charging. • Ring door bells operate on 4 to 24V AC and require a voltage adapter stepping down 120V. which is sold as an accessory. It is an AC to AC adapter w Max power output of 40VA.
