A:AnswerI also had only an inch surface where my doorbell was. I had to move the new Ring off the door molding and put it to the right on the house itself. It looks fine and is not too far away but I had to putty and paint the area where the old doorbell was. Also it is not hardwired now which is a disappointment. I have to charge the battery now and then.
A:AnswerThere is a typo in your question. https://shop.ring.com/pages/protect-plans The Pro plan is $10/month if you want to have your videos stored in the cloud to share. If you don't want to share videos you can still use your Ring doorbell in real time.
A:AnswerHi Blink,
Thank you for reaching out to us. No, Ring is not compatible with Blink cameras.

A:AnswerThe Ring door bell doesn't record video UNLESS you pay for the Plus or Basic cloud storage plans. Then the videos are stored for 60 days on each plan and they can be shared with others. If you do not purchase a plan then you can only interact with the video in real time on your phone.
I will say the video is great quality, I have the cheap Ring at 720P and I can clearly see cars on the street about 20 meters from my door.
A:AnswerYes, it works as a doorbell if the voltage of your doorbell is 24 volt ac. Some doorbells use 12 volt DC. This will not work. Get the Ring chime if you have the wrong voltage or no current doorbell installed. You can charge your doorbell every few months. The app will let you know when it needs to be charged.
A:AnswerHi Ccfernan,
The single biggest difference between the two is in video quality. The earlier model outputs a 720p video image while the second-generation doorbell provides 1080p. You can compare both devices here: https://shop.ring.com/pages/video-doorbells-compare

A:Answeryou can recharge the battery inside of the ring doorbell 1 it easily pops off the wall for charging. ring doorbell 2 has a removable battery that you can bring inside for charging I would recommend purchasing a second battery so you can charge one and then when the one in the doorbell is dead you can put the fully charged one into the doorbell so you do not lose any security recording time. you can also purchase a solar attachment for it that way you will never have to bring the battery inside for charging. Depending on what you have no overhang and not a very snowy winter where snow could obstruct the solar panel.
A:AnswerMine is mounted in my porch so it doesn't receive any direct wet weather. It comes with a base that has to be screwed down then the doorbell attaches to the base and is locked in place with security screws. I suppose you could use double-sided 3M tape to mount it to your fifth wheel however I don't know that I would trust that to stay on as you're driving down the road. It's a rather expensive piece of equipment to lose from the bumps and jostling I'm driving.
