If you leave the motion detector on. It does both I can see when people leave and come to the house. And it saves the motion so I can see what time my kids get home at night.

It shows video with both motion and when someone rings the door bell. It stores the video. It comes with a 30 day trial to record video after that you have to purchase the iCloud to keep the recording going which I find it to be the whole purpose of this thing. It's nice to look back and see who was at your door.

This product will show video when the app is in use. The motion sensors will send an alert if someone is at the door.

The video can show you a live view anytime from your phone app as long as its hard wired to the door bell. If you have it placed elsewhere using the battery. You can set it up for motion and button.

Both. Motion sensor is fairly sensitive so consider reducing range in settings
