- Answer Both the Ring Pro and Ring 2 come with one camera internal to the doorbell switch housing. IMHO the Ring Pro is a more solid product, but requires external power from your old doorbell to work . The Ring 2 can work on battery power, but seems like a cheaper device in terms of build quality. My opinion.

QuestionI would like to buy one of these for my husband, but would we have to sign up for a service? I know he will not want to do that. Also, we have Android phones now, but if we have to get new phones, what other phones will work with this unit?

- Answer Linda, Both Android and Apple. My mother-in-law has a Droid and we have an iPhone. The good thing is the App pages are basically the same from one phone to the other. So far, we've been able to help her navigate thru the app while we've been at our house on our iPhone. Hope this helps!

- Answer You will need to set it up through the Ring app, which can be downloaded onto your phone. Therefore, yes I would say you have a high probability to be able to view the video on your phone, so long as you have a smart phone

- Answer No. Purchase a Ring Video Doorbell or Doorbell 2 for internal rechargeable battery power. The Ring Video Doorbell Pro requires existing doorbell system power or purchased Ring AC Adapter power.

QuestionWhat is the difference between the $249.00 Ring Pro video doorbell sold individually and the doorbell included in this bundle? I understand it has the chime pro but is the actual doorbell the same or are there differences ?

- Answer The key difference is how it is connected. The Ring Pro connects into your current doorbells power and is slimmer as a result, where the Ring is bulky by comparison and powered off a battery pack. Beyond that generically pretty similar. - Answer Is your question regarding the Ring Pro or the Echo dot? If you are asking about the Ring Pro, it does monitor 24/7 but it does not record consistently. If there is motion or a ring, the Ring Pro will record. Otherwise, the system is monitoring but not recording.
