Yep. Mine eventually had 3 vertical slits completely through it and stopped working. It gets a LOT of direct sunlight and delivery people ruthlessly crush the button when they press it, so ehhh... I'd say it did ok for 3yr. A lot of rain in late summer to early fall where I'm at, so that's very likely what actually killed it, but it still took a while. Warranty covered it anyway, so now my doorbell looks all shiny and new again. Net gain, really. I just bought another for my mom, regardless of mine wearing down. I say just get an extended warranty and let nature do it's thing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.no the doorbell button is rubber or silicon
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The button is plastic. After 22 months installed I noticed that the button was cracked. We have pretty low usage and no instances of abuse (hitting, kicking etc) which would cause this. I suspect it's a result of being exposed to the afternoon sun every day. On the positive side, they sent me a free replacement when I contacted them about it. I have attached a picture of the cracked button.
