• Yes, you can hear the ring chime from the press of the button, plus the chime on the inside. I had it installed to my existing doorbell chime, and it rings like the regular doorbell

• The doorbell rings on the outside unit, which you can control the volume, and, can ring your existing inside doorbell, and, ring an optional plugin Chime or Chime Pro.

• You hear a sound when someone approaches the door AND "yes" the door bell DOES ring. If it plays a tune, make sure you put in the Ring App that it's "digital". If the doorbell just goes "ding dong", it's mechanical.
