QuestionMy doorbell sits in a very narrow spot. One side of the doorbell the front door closes and the other side extends out. Is there a model that would work? I cannot upload the picture.

- Answer I re ran my doorbell wires from the door frame to a 7/8" inch hole i drilled in the brick and mounted it fine, you can make it smaller by not using the trim plate that i have used. I hope the picture i posted gives any kind of help in your decision.

QuestionI hear you have to change out the transformer from 10v to 16v to ensure a better wifi connection. Please confirm. Does the power pack replace that idea??

- Answer No. And the change to a bigger doorbell transformer might not help, either. It didn't for us. We purchased and installed a 30 VA transformer, and it didn't have any effect. The function of the Power Kit is a mystery that Ring does not seem too anxious to share. The laws of physics tell us that if the total power output of the doorbell transformer is 10 VA (Watts), then no device inserted into the circuit could possibly boost that to something greater (Law of Conservation of Energy. Remember that?). Ring is having some serious audio problems, and they seem to blame the doorbell transformer for everything. We purchased and installed the Ring Chime Pro to "fix" our (nonexistent) Wi-Fi problems. It had no effect, either. Don't hold your breath waiting for a solution. BTW, what is the AWG (gauge) of your doorbell wire? I'm beginning to believe that this might be a factor, but can't be sure without more information.

- Answer There is a $30/yr subscription for each Ring camera you own, or a$100/yr for unlimited cameras if you would like to be able to save the videos to the cloud and download them at a later time. I believe if you choose not to purchase the subscription, you will only be able to view videos upon motion/ring and not be able to go back at a later date to review the video capture.

- Answer Pretty much - if you have a chime box and your doorbell using the simple low-voltage two wire connection. Just needs to meet the Ring Pro's power requirement of 16v-24v power. I recommend 24v, as many have reported issues with anything less.

- Answer Yes it certainly can, however it has a cover that goes over the assembly quite nicely which hides the screws. Additionally, Ring provides a Lifetime Guarantee (at least on the Ring Pro) that states they will replace it in the event of Damage or Theft. My product was damaged (Best Buys Fault) when I opened it and rather than go through Best Buy again, Ring simply replaced it for free. Their support team is awesome.

- Answer It doesn't come with a chime in the package unless you bought a bundle deal, but the chime can be purchased pretty cheaply. Depending on your wifi coverage you can either get the Chime Pro or the normal Chime... The only difference between the two is that one has a built in range extender. We have currently 2 chimes one down stairs and the other upstairs. The volume can get loud depending on how you set it up. IN all honesty one is good for most homes. it will also still ring your existing mechanical door bell unit (if setup appropriately) as it still acts as a normal door bell .

- Answer Hi Rebecca! As an owner of Ring doorbells for the past 4-5 years, I can tell you that Ring Doorbells need two things to work; and that’s power and an internet connection. Some, like the Ring 2 and Ring Peephole have a battery, others like the Pro that I currently have need to be wired to your doorbell system for power. After that, you need an internet connection. If your car has an always on internet connection, you possibly could make a battery operated Ring functional, but how would you position it? I’m thinking something else like a car security system might fit the bill. But I’ll leave the rest to you! Hope this helps some!
