Hi Starr. Good question. Yes, the Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) is a battery-powered device. It can be installed without drilling by using the Ring No-Drill Mount (sold separately). You can get notifications to your phone, a Ring Chime or compatible Alexa-enabled device (each sold separately). Visit our support center for more information. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes the battery version is wireless. Just tape or screw to the wall. It has its own internal chime which you can disable. You can buy a chime that rings inside your unit.

Please try again later.Mine has no wires and I charged the rechargeable battery before I installed it the battery still isn’t even halfway and I put it in around the 15th of November it has a doorbell that will only ring on my phone and the door unless you install one outside the Building and sync it to the one on your apartment door
