• No, you would just have to make sure it’s charged in order for it to work. You’ll also get email notifications when the battery is running low and it needs to be charged.

Please do note that without connecting your Ring Video Doorbell to your pre-existing doorbell, you will only be able to hear your doorbell chime through your free Ring app. With that being said, we do offer a Ring Chime. Ring Chime is a wireless notification device that can connect to all of your Ring devices. Simply plug it into a wall socket, connect it through the Ring app and you'll get Ring notifications anywhere in your home, even if you're not near your phone.
