No it does not. It receives power from your existing hardwire doorbell.

The Ring doorbell I own does not. Ring offers both options. If there is an existing doorbell you can wire it directly to the house. If no doorbell exists, there is an option for a battery model that the battery can either be replaced. Or a solar panel could be attached that uses the sun to recharge the battery. This option is great to use on fence gates, back doors, or anywhere there is not existing wiring.
