“How do I keep the input channel from randomly changing on its own? Whether inputs are on or off, the input switch randomly changes from #2 where my cable box is plugged into to #4 where the Wii is plugged. I have the Will box OFF.”

When the front panel LED flash twice, it means the auto function has been turned off.In other words, when the panel LED constantly light on 2s, it means the auto function turns on.
