Directions state that stripping the speaker wire is unnecessary. How are they supposed to get a good connection if none of the wire is exposed? Has anyone used these with out stripping the wire?   (5 Answers)

      Answer

No stripping necessary. They unscrew to assemble. The top part with the banana plug has a spike that you insert into the center of your speaker wire strand. It also has a compression nut and the bottom of the banana plug you slide onto the speaker wire prior to the above step, so that when you have inserted the spike, slide the compression nut up, then screw the top and bottom pieces together. They work great, so far that is. Just have to pay close attention to the taper of the compression nut when you assemble it .

There should be little black rings in package, those are the grommets. So yes the grommets come with the plugs. If they are not there I would call Best Buy and see if they can help. As for why it only comes 5 sets is because they are used to connect wires to amps not to speakers.

I have a subwoofer with wires already into the subwoofer and need to put other wires into banana plug, then into receiver. Can it be done that way?

Yes. I did this to connect a Klipsche Bookshelf speakers with banana plug to Yamaha surround channels. You should have no trouble connecting your subwoofer to your receiver using a banana plug

Is there a fix for Loose Banana Plugs   (9 Answers)

I am trying to install your Banana Plugs on some 18 gauge speaker wire. I am using the Black insert but the plugs seem to fall of with any type of pull and are a loose fit on the insulated wire. Is the insulation on my wire too thin to create the friction required to retain the plugs? What do you suggest?

Cut wire longer and fold it, so its thicker.
