Depending on the size and weight of the tv, you will need to use wall anchors for drywall. I recommend using the ones that handle up to 300lbs of weight. You can find them at gome depot. You have to drill a pretty large hole in the wall to get them in. (About 1 inch) but they hold really well. Try to avoid hitting the metal studs. They will not hold the bracket well.

Please try again later.The proper way is to open sheet rock wall and insert wood 2x4 stud (three feet long) inside metal stud wall where the bolts anchor into the stud. use a small drywall screw (3 each stud) to keep the stud from sliding down to the base of the wall. put same Sheetrock back on wall, tape compound, sand and paint. your done.
