I use full bolts through the wall so it is more secure.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Metal studs do not have the same load bearing abilities as does a standard 2x4 wall stud. This extendable mount protrudes 10 -1/4 inches away from that wall and weighs about 20 pounds or so. Add a 55 or 60 inch TV to this extended mount and the total weight hanging out 10 inches off the wall compounds considerably! The mount and TV are a fulcrum and the load exerted on the upper mount bolts becomes significant. I would be comfortable loading 300 pounds on two metal studs that bear the load straight down parallel to the surface of the stud, but definitely not in the direction of pulling out away from the stud as it would in this scenario. I state this from the perspective of using large sheet metal screws. You can do anything you desire if cost isn't an issue. Think along the lines of spreading out the load.
