A:Answer I don't think anyone is streaming live local news. However, most all the local shows are available through Roku, but what you will need is to provide proof that you have the right to watch the stations, i.e. an account of some sort with a local provider. An email address is what will be required in order for you to validate that you have an account. It doesn't have to be the primary email address for the account (like Comcast for example allows for it's users to have up to 7 email addresses, and any of those can activate a device). However, if you don't actually have cable or satellite, of course you wouldn't have an email address to validate what channels you would legally have access to receive. If you did though, you would have full access to all of the access channels linked to that account that have streaming apps. Again, I'm really not sure if local news is streamed or not, however CNN, FOX, and MSNBC all have streaming apps that show news all threw the day. However, now that I'm thinking about it, in my area, I've reacently noticed one of my local news stations encouraging viewers to check out their new streaming app, so I may be wrong, news may now be streaming live.
