“Is it really as simple as just plug it into the HDMI slot? Do the apps just appear, or where do I find them? Do I need to sign up for each channels like the regular ABC CBS NBC? What about Nat Geo and discovery?”

• You can't watch regular channels live. I primarily watch Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon but these require subscriptions. There may be other options I am not aware of.

• You create a roku account and you can download more apps. It's pretty straight forward, when you do the original configuration it will walk you through how to do it. The roku is no more complex than any other streaming devices I have used.

• You can add the apps from the interface or from a computer. You have to create an account with Roku.com and search/add channels you want.

• Had to create a roku account, and login to the Netflex, etc. and then yes, the apps appear in TV screen.

• The apps are loaded on the main screen. There is a built in App Store. Yes three plugs. Power, had I, and Ethernet. Can also connect wireless. Some apps need to register, some don't. Depends on the provider, i.e. Netflix, Pandora.

• yes just plug it and follow onscreen instructions. its easy to setup.... theres an appstore just like any other apple product. Each channel (tv)has its own app you have to download and each one has its registration.

• It really is that simple. The remote is very straight forward. My parents are not very technology savvy and they work it just fine. There are some apps that you need a subscription for, but you will have limited access to others.
