It does connect to the internet to get channels , but it can do this wirelessly or with an Ethernet cable. There are specific apps that are designed for social media via the internet that are free. It really isn't designed to be a web browser though, it is meant to stream premium video content via the internet. YES - to wireless, it has fantastic wireless connectivity, all of the available WiFi's a/b/g/n and ac. (AC Wireless is the latest WiFi technology, 3 times as fast as WiFi N)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There are some web browsing options, but you'd be much better off using a computer, tablet or smart phone. Even thinking about typing URLs in using a remote is starting to annoy me :-) It does have ethernet as well.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.yes but Roku 4 overheats to the point where I'm afraid it can cause a fire or melt plastic, losses connectivity after a while playing . I would not recommend or buy ever again. I waited a long time to get Roku 4 to get it and find this major flaw.
