None of the Roku devices or Chromecast devices pick up 5G internet. MOST internet companies provide you with a 5G and 2G connection for situations like these because there are devices that don't use 5G for wifi other than your desktop or laptop computer. My Roku & Chromecast have no problem with speed or download working on the 2G connection I have.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes; my $30 stick has connected to either/both 5G or 2.4G.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm not sure why you would need a 5ghz band to stream HD content for Starz. I had used the app Fandango now to stream Moana in HD and I was connected to the 2.4ghz band the whole time without lag. If you're finding constant dropouts while using the 2.4 ghz band consider changing the radio channel for your router to see if that helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Roku does everything is is advertised to do.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.the key to your answer, no matter what device you end up buying, is that for it to connect to 5ghz, it should say something like Dual-band wireless "(Wi-Fi a/b/g/n compatible)". a bit counter-intuitively it is the "a" in that a/b/g/n sequence that will mean it can connect to 5ghz... I would look at the Roku 3 or higher.
