• Hello, yes you have to purchase most apps, but if you have Netflix or the others on your phone you just need to add your username n password.

• Most apps are free but some you have to have a subscription. But there's so many free apps I'm sure they have something for you I even get my local news free.

• There's lots of free programing but the ones you mentioned there is a monthly fee. Most will give you a month trial of free service to try. Sling is a good one too. You can get a free 2 week trial from Sling.
