If I were you, I'd check with Roku online chat or Cust. Serv. and ask if you need cable for at least accessing Nexflix, etc. and ask if any other channels can be accessed directly through Roku, skipping cable completely. I have internet bundle and very basic econ. pkg. with Cox, so don't know how it would work. But I keep seeing ads about bypassing the "tyranny" of cable. Worth a look... .
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can get any of those channels/networks in apps. However, you will not get the live streaming if you do not have a subscription with cable or with those channels/networks. But some of those apps will have your TV show available within hours after it aired live. For example, the show "the flash" is usually on the next day after it aired on live TV. In this day and age who cares about live streaming much when you can easily watch your show anytime after they aired.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not really. We get some for free but mostly use the Roku for netflix, Amazon, PBS and special program apps. We have an antenna for local programming and subscribe to PlayStation Vue (live programming) for $30 month so we don't need cable. We're saving a substantial amount of $$ but I made sure we would get the channels we wanted before pulling the plug on cable. Good luck!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. With cable card I do
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You would need to download each app separately. Each one had a different fee for it, such as Netflix. I found the Disney app was free, but others like you have mentioned have to be paid for before watching any shows. This is not for cable service, you would have to do that separately from Roku. But I really enjoy using my Roku for watching some free shows, as well as streaming workouts. I hope that helps.
