- Answer If I were you, I'd check with Roku online chat or Cust. Serv. and ask if you need cable for at least accessing Nexflix, etc. and ask if any other channels can be accessed directly through Roku, skipping cable completely. I have internet bundle and very basic econ. pkg. with Cox, so don't know how it would work. But I keep seeing ads about bypassing the "tyranny" of cable. Worth a look... .

- Answer To download the channel it's free, but to actually use the service you'd have to buy a subscription for Netflix, Hulu, etc.

- Answer I have not had any problems with dropped signals with this unit. I have an excellent router though that has 5g service. Make sure your router placement is central to everything in the house.

- Answer Yes. I would think so. My TV is a six-year-old Sony Bravia, LCD. It works perfectly with my TV. I don't have any problem so far. I used it for Netflix and Amazon prime. I purchased this product about two weeks ago. Hope this helps.

QuestionLooking at the Roku Premiere and the Roku Streaming Stick (2017 model) to replace a Roku 2 XD in an upstairs bedroom with my router located in a den downstairs. Which one has the better range? I can't move the router at this point.

- Answer When I asked what the difference was between the two; I was told the only difference is that the stick was not compatible with the new 4G TVs. I don’t know much about streaming so I had to rely on what I was told. Hope that helps.

QuestionWhat is the difference between Roku Streaming Stick, Express Streaming Media Player, or Premiere Streaming Media Player? The prices go up, but from the descriptions, I don't see any difference in performance.

- Answer The Express and Express+ are lower-power processors. One will notice a performance lag with those compared to a quad core processor Roku. They are budget models. Personally, my experience has been that the 3600-series Roku sticks can work better with weaker wifi signals than the Express does. I think the quad core helps there. ymmv. The 3600-series Roku Stick and the Premier series and the Ultra have a quad core processor. The differences between the quad core Rokus are features. Some have ethernet or can accept a memory card or have a different type of remote control. See the Roku site's comparison chart, as another contributor pointed out.

QuestionI see the Roku Premier specifies that it works with 802.11ac. Does that imply that it also works with previous 802.11a/b/g/n? If anyone could confirm that, it would be greatly appreciated, as my current home wifi network does not support 802.11ac.

- Answer If you have a cable subscription you’ll be able to utilize the ESPN app free of charge, just use your login credentials. However, if you don’t have a cable provider, i.e. Comcast, Xfinity, DirecTv, etc you’ll not be able to access the content.

QuestionI currently plug my wireless headphone base into the roku receiver. How would I use my wireless headphones with this roku? I don't want to have the base plugged into the remote! The base for the headphones needs to be out in front of me.

- Answer You can get Netflix on your Roku. Installation is easy. Hook up power, install HDMI cable between Roku and TV, follow the prompts to locate and log into your wifi network (you will need to know your wifi network name and password) and complete your account activation on the Roku website from your computer.

- Answer Check to see if Roku has an app for Comcast. They do for Xfinity and then you can stream all the channels you have thru your service.
