• It runs cooler than the ROKU 4 I replaced. That was very hot to the touch. My (resting) ROKU 2s (2720x) are all warmer than this ROKU Premiere Plus!! Hope that helps.

• It does get warm to the touch, but I wouldn't consider the heat excessive or dangerous. The Premiere+ is fanless, so there won't be any extra noise produced unexpectedly.
