Sling and Roku are two different things. You do not need Roku to watch Sling. I have Sling and watch it on my Xbox 1, better picture, sound and no extra commercials. Have also watched Sling on Amazon Prime and my Computer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am a streamer of movies via Netflix and Amazon at two of my three homes. At the other I have full tv service via Fios, formerly I had Comcast. I find that I can get all the TV (mainly football) I want without resorting to sling. This is because of my base subscription to fios (just as it was with Comcast). Those services allow you to to log into channels that you subscribe to at one location in the others where you do not have service. Bene notte: I tried the Roku streaming stick because of cost and ease of intallation and found that it simply didn't work. I turned that back in to Best Buy and bought the premiere which works well except there are voice/picture sync problems that Roku has yet to resolve.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have Dish Network and also have access to Netflix channel.I did notice that the Roku does have a lot more apps like Hulu and Amazon Prime plus a lot more.I mainly purchased the Roku because I'm planning on cutting the cord and going to streaming.
