Nope. I own two and love them. No hard drive is part of the unit for recording.

Hello Dina! The Streambar itself does not have any recording capabilities. There are however, plenty of cable alternative channels available on the Roku platform that do offer cloud based DVR services. You can browse what is available here: https://channelstore.roku.com/browse/cable-alternative
