Hello Rallen, getting local channels depends on where you live and if your local channels have apps of their own or are offered on other apps. Fox, NBC, ABC, CBS, and PBS all have apps but may require a subscription to get your local channels. As for your DVR, you can connect it to your TV but it wont be able to record anything off of the Roku device.
