The stick (as with the other Roku models) is always on (there is no off button) but it does go into a "sleep" mode after awhile. When you turn your TV back on, or when you re-select the HDMI input that the Roku is plugged into, you'll see the screen saver bouncing across the screen. You just have to push a button on the remote to wake it up. If by "does it need to reboot" you mean does it need to go through the whole 3 or 4 minute thing like when you first plugged it in, then no, it does not need to do that. I've had mine for a year now and every once in awhile I've had to unplug it then plug it back in to let it reboot because it's acting funny or "locks up". This has only happened a couple of times in a year so really isn't much different than any other tech device.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you power the roku via the usb port on your TV then it will turn off with the TV. Logic then follows that when you turn the TV on it would then need to boot up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Stick is plugged in to the wall and always on as long as there is internet available and electricity.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The remote control for this Roku doesn't have an on/off button so it stays on all the time. You can turn it off manually yourself by unplugging it from the outlet. If you unplug the Roku, when you plug it back into the electric socket, it might take a few minutes to load back up on your TV. This all depends on how fast your cable connection is. Don't forget that you need High Speed internet in order for this device to be useful venture.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The stick will stay on and I read that it's suggested that you keep the stick on all the time anyway so the updates will occur when needed. Plus the roku takes a while to start up so I like leaving it on all the time. more convenient
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I can only speak to mine and it seems it is always on. Not sure if your tv (or any tv for that matter) has a shut down hdmi connections when turned off. I unhook mine if I'm not using it (just a preference. It gets a little hot and I'm always nervous about a voltage burst which could not only toast it, but my tv also since it stick has a ac connector also).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As long as there's power going to the stick it will be on. If you plug it to the TV's USB for power it will turn off when you turn the TV off. Every time you turn it on, it will reboot, that the only annoying thing about it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
