If you have a smart TV, do you still need a Roku? null

If Roku can download apps your Smart TV can't then... yes. o.O

forewarning, I'm 'techno-illiterate' but..... …..my limited knowledge (from shopping tv's like crazy this BF season)is there are basically 2 types of Smart tv's: those with streaming capabilities via several Smart formats or solely a ROKU-only formatted tv. If you have the former, simply go to Roku (or whichever format) icon & register. If lucky enough (as my daughter) to have a Roku TV, then you sign up & go!! Already have a Roku account?? Turn on tv, register/enter code # once - boom! Irritating it's so freakin' easy. Instead of my 3 remotes: turn on tv/system/cable/etc...use tv remote input button to select "Roku"... NOW I can use Roku remote. She ONLY has ONE remote!! Cute little Roku remote...hit "ON", scroll to whatever channel/cable/tv/streaming station/music channel icon, you're done...has power/volume/mute. You have no idea how BAD I want to replace ALL my tv's with Roku tv's......grrrrr!!!!

Roku offers other options for channels. There is Sling, the Roku channel and then other network stations that you can’t access with just a smart Tv. It also offers Hulu and Netflix like a smart tv does.
