• USB provides the power. You can use the onboard port on your tv or run it to a power source using a USB adapter like used for charging a cell phone

• I think it depends on your TV. I tried to use mine as a power source but it was too weak. I had to plug my roku to the power strip. For reference I have a “basic” Samsung tv.
