I bought mine today, August 19 2018, and mine did show the 5GHZ and I am currently connected too it.
I would recommend:

Please try again later.it should work.... go through the connection procedures again and make sure that you are using the right password and if you have extreme security on a router, make sure that the mac address is on your access list. your router/access should select a lower band width automatically. Just because you have an 5Ghz option doesn't mean that that is what you are using.... your device (Roku Express) may not be an 5Mgz.... look at your specs. Also, you don't really need 5.... these devices work really well on 2.
