• Yes. I have two Roku boxes running on 2 different brand tv's and the Roku remote controls the on & off on both tv's as well as the volume on both tv's.

• The power button for the Roku remote will sync to turn on your Roku and tv together, as well as power off together. This is how I use it with my Samsung tv
