Hello! The voice remote pro that comes with the Roku Ultra has a midfield mic so no headphones needed for voice commands! He can just speak his commands such as "Hey Roku, turn on captions" and it will perform said command. The headphone feature is used for private listening. Such as if someone is asleep the other person can plug in the headphones to listen to TV without disturbing anyone.
