“Will using this vacuum on long shag carpeting tangle the brushes so they have to be cleaned frequently, or does this vacuum do well (ie. tangle-free) with shag carpet and pet hair (not the attachments, but the main upright vacuum)?”

Any vacuum will require you to clear pet hair from brushes. While this happens less with the shark than with the dyson, you will need to clear brushes for longevity of vacuum and for through cleaning.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi, As an owner of this vacuum I can say that I have to clean the brush after every couple of rooms. I have a dog with long hair and it doesn't take long before the vacuum isn't really doing much anymore. I'm not sure how it would perform on shag carpet but my guess is it would have to be cleaned off often.
