Not bad, I dropped it once and it landed on the corner. The phone didn't have a scratch on it. The cover actually has a hard back plate that snaps on and sticks out around the phone vs being flush with the edge all the way around.

The case is thick and somewhat padded so when you drop it nothing happens unless you drop it open-faced onto rocks which you would have to try to do. The face stays closed nicely most of the time so that will not happen. Edges are also nicely protected.
