A:AnswerNo it doesn’t. Did not realize immediately. Parents did not want to spend time researching replacement. Extremely annoying that panel doesn’t light up. Thought it was standard feature as has been on all appliances I have ever purchased in last 15 years. The oven range purchased at same time has light up control panel. Not sure why this feature is not included on microwave. Won’t buy same brand again without this feature!
A:AnswerThere is a light that goes on when you open the door. The finish on the interior is dark. One thing that you should know is that while the microwave is cooking, there is a very dim light on so you really cannot see how the food is cooking. I was told that this is newer technology. My microwave was 30 years old and had a very good light on while cooking.
A:AnswerI tried to once and wasn't successful, unfortunately I would advise against this microwave if you haven't already bought it. It's quite small and has no light when it's cooking. It does properly make popcorn and reheat food. Though the button to open get stuck frequently.
A:AnswerOn the Black-Stainless model (which really only has stainless on the edge trim) the button works quite nicely. Easy to push. I noticed on just the straight black version the button was not as smooth. The door seems to close quietly and smoothly. Overall I was quite impressed with the build quality of what is otherwise an inexpensive unit. The light is decent and comes on when opening the door (some unit do not). Not sure what has to be done to change it.

A:Answersupposed to have 4" clearance all around, but this is very conservative. unless you microwave for long time periods at a time, less clearance should be ok. stay away from tight fits because there should be some air circulation
