Thank you for reaching out regarding your Samsung - 1.6 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave if the "beep" of this unit can be silenced. Regarding your concern, yes, this can be silenced. You can use the Sound On/Off feature to mute the microwave. It is usually part of the Options or Settings menu.

A:AnswerI would say if it’s not going to be outside vented it’s not going to do a great job removing smoke/grease from your kitchen. Most non outside vent options just rely on a small charcoal filter for this purpose and it isn’t enough if you regularly cook. It’s still better than nothing.
