Hi Davis, Thank you for reaching out, and we hope you are in good health. We appreciate your interest in Samsung home appliances, specifically with Samsung - 1.7 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave - White. This over-the-range microwave will need to have a cabinet for the top. The cabinet will support most of the weight of the microwave with a top bracket while being assisted by the back bracket. I have shared the installation guide below.
