QuestionDoes the smh1713s come set up for recirculation from factory?

- Answer Thanks for the question. Most Samsung Over the Range Microwaves, including the SMH1713S, ship from the factory with the blower turned toward the front for recirculating venting. However, we recommend checking the angle of the blower during installation to make sure it's facing in the appropriate direction for your desired venting. - Ms. Samsung

QuestionSMH1713S upgrade from SMH1622SIf I remove my SMH1622S to upgrade to a SMH1713S, will I need to move the mounting bracket? In other words are the wall mounting templates identical for these two models?

- Answer Probably. We had to change our bracket holes when we change microwaves.

- Answer The model 1713S comes standard venting up out of the top of the microwave. But has the ability to adjust the vent to come out the back or out the front. Directions describe how to do just this.

- Answer Yes, you can turn both the button sound and "remind end signal" on or off through the My Settings menu on your SMH1713W microwave. Press My Settings > 2 > 2 to turn the control panel sounds off, or My Settings > 5 > 2 to turn off the "remind end signal". For more information, please refer to page 10 of the user manual that came with your microwave. The manual can also be downloaded as a pdf file from Samsung's website for your convenience. - Ms. Samsung

- Answer The SMH1713 comes with a mounting template to help determine the cutout locations for the exhaust vent either through the cabinet above the microwave or through the wall behind it. I can't tell you whether this would line up with your previous microwave's exhaust vent. - Ms. Samsung

- Answer The SMH1713 has a maximum exhaust fan setting of 300 cfm, though Samsung also has models with 400 cfm available. If the higher cfm capability is important to you, you may want to consider the SMH1816 or SMH2117. - Ms. Samsung
