• This is a convection oven microwave combination. The convection oven is significantly better than a simple toaster oven and more efficient. We have had both. This is much better.

• There is a toasting unit on the top of the compartment. You must use one of the provided racks to get your bread really close to the top and then flip it over half way through. In my opinion, its easier to just use a toaster. Its not a toaster oven though.

• Thanks for your interest, Ginny. The MC17F808KDT has a 900-watt grill element on the top, in addition to the convection microwave features, which enables it to be used to brown (or "toast"). Keep in mind that since the grill element browns only one side at a time, you'll need to turn items over if you want them toasted on both sides. - Ms. Samsung
