• You could use it on a countertop although it is larger than most countertop appliances. You lose the use of the bottom lighting and the range vent. The top of the unit is not "decor" minded. You could put something on the top.

• No it would not be suggested to use as a countertop microwave. Beside you will be defeating the purpose of an over the range microwave and setting it on the counter. It will be cheaper to just buy a countertop microwave

• i have mine on a counter top and its fine just don't set anything on top that's where the fans are
